CHECKLIST FOR COMPLETING COURT-APPOINTED COMMUNITY SERVICE

Contact a registered nonprofit or government organization and arrange a time to do your service.
Complete your required service hours before the date indicated by your judge.
United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties makes no report to the court on your service. Each individual agency will sign-off on any hours served.

For your convenience, United Way's Volunteer Center has compiled a list of organizations that welcome court-appointed community service. This is not a full listing—you may complete your hours at other 501(c)3 or government organizations that are not included on the list.

It is up to your judge to decide which organizations you are allowed to work with. Please contact your judge’s clerk with any questions on what you are allowed to do as court-appointed service.

Please be aware that some of the nonprofit agencies may have limited opportunities available for court-appointed community service. Other agencies may only take certain type of offenders due to the nature of their work, contact with clients, etc.

Please make sure your supervisor at the organization completely fills out all information.

When signing up for an opportunity, please select only 1-3 opportunities. Someone will be in contact with you to confirm.
