Here are a few ideas to create a volunteer project in the office!      

 

Community Impact Advocacy

On Site Volunteer Opportunity

• Volunteers will advocate for their communities and share their opinions via our Community Impact survey! Encourage team members to take survey.  Print out the survey and take it to your community organizations (churches, social groups, etc.)
• Surveys will be provided on paper and/or online.
• Goal: looking for 700 more community members throughout Volusia & Flagler to complete survey.

 

2-1-1 Cards for First Responder's – Multi-business opportunity.

On Site Volunteer Opportunity

• 2-1-1 Helpline needs new card printed on stock cards, cut, and bundled into stacks of 25 to deliver to first responder's in Volusia and Flagler counties.
• Card information will be provided
• Businesses will need to provide card stock for printing the cards

 

Sunshine House Garden Book Drive Project

Sunshine House: DeLand

• Children’s Home Society would like an organization to do a small gardening book drive.  The goal is to teach the children who live in CHS foster homes to learn how to manage and grow their own food. 
• Book levels can range from 0 to young adult.

 

Summer Food Drive/Sort-A-Thon

Second Harvest Food Bank:  Daytona Beach

• Canned Good donation drive
• Drop off canned goods to Second Harvest- Possibility to participate in a mini sort-a-thon at the company
• Drop off to North Street Location

PACE Center for Girls, Volusia-Flagler-ADOPTED BY SEACOAST BANK 

Ormond Beach 

• PACE Center for Girls needs help painting their building! 
• Can accommodate 10 volunteers
• All materials will be provided by PACE 
• Shifts are flexible 

 

Halifax Habitat for Humanity Build 2 -ADOPTED BY COUNTY OF VOLUSIA'S INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

TBD- Daytona Beach

• Halifax Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers for a house build in Daytona Beach!
• Can accommodate 10 volunteers
• Shift is from 8:00 AM- 12:00 PM

 

Prom Decorations - ADOPTED BY SYNERGY BILLING

Center for the Visually Impaired: Daytona Beach

• Use your crafting skills to help make decorations for CVI’s annual Prom fundraising event!
• All materials and instructions will be provided.
• Can accommodate 10-15 volunteers
• Shift can be any length of time between 9 AM and 6 PM.   

 

HUM Family Shelter Painting Project -ADOPTED BY BANK OF AMERICA

Halifax Urban Ministries in Daytona Beach

• Volunteers are needed to paint at least two family units
• Can accommodate 8 volunteers
• Shift is from 9 AM - 4 PM

 

Domestic Violence Shelter Update Projects - ADOPTED BY PUBLIX

The Domestic Abuse Council, Daytona Beach

• Re-painting Residential Rooms
• Can accommodate 10 volunteers
• 2 to 3 hours in the morning, start time is 9 AM

 

• Stripping and rewaxing the composite flooring in communal areas and hallways
• Can accommodate 10 volunteers
• 2 to 3 hours, start time is noon

 

Bridge of HOPE Feeding Program - ADOPTED BY PUBLIX  

Bridge of Hope- Halifax Urban Ministries in Daytona Beach

• Prepare and serve food to the homeless
• Can accommodate 14 volunteers
• Shift is from 9 AM -1:30 PM

 

Sunshine House Garden Project - ADOPTED BY TARGET - ORANGE CITY

Sunshine House: DeLand

• Volunteers are needed to dig up old weeds and plants in order to plant new flowers and vegetable plants for the kids of Sunshine House.  
• Garden shift is from 9-12 with 5 volunteers
• Rubber gloves, rakes, water, trash bags, and plants will be provided. We will need shovels to dig.
• Garden Volunteers will need to be comfortable  bending, kneeing, and lifting
• Minimum age: 15 Years old

 

Beautify Our Living Space Project - ADOPTED BY THE DAYTONA BEACH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Family Renew Center (Holly Hill location)

• Painting and landscaping
• Can accommodate 8-10 volunteers
• Supplies will be provided by Family Renew
• 3 to 4 hours in the morning, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM with lunch

 

Halifax Habitat for Humanity Build 1 - ADOPTED BY VOTRAN

Teddy Bear Drive – ADOPTED BY THE YOUNG PROFESSIONAL GROUP OF ORMOND BEACH & JAMES MOORE

Early Learning Coalition: Daytona Beach

• Collect stuffed animals for the children to keep with them when they go to childcare. For many, this is their first experience away from home.
• Drop off at Early Learning Coalition of Flagler/Volusia

     

Help Me Grow Marketing Mix – ADOPTED BY MEDTRONIC

In House Volunteer Project

• Help Me Grow needs help putting together new marketing materials to hand out in Volusia and Flagler Counties to parents seeking developmental screenings for children 0-8 years old.
• All materials and instructions will be provided.
• Can accommodate 50 volunteers
• Shift can be any length of time between 9 AM and 5 PM.

 

Painting Project - ADOPTED BY THE COUNTY OF VOLUSIA’S HR DEPARTMENT

The House Next Door: Deland, FL (The Little House Next Door)

• Painting one of the Child Development Center’s classrooms.
• All supplies will be provided.
• Can accommodate 5-10 volunteers.
• Shift will be from 9 AM – 2 PM.

          

Gifts of Encouragement – ADOPTED BY JAMES MOORE

Early Learning Coalition: Daytona Beach

• Come into our office and help assemble a gift with an encouraging statement on it.  They will have different themes: foster parents, first time sending to school, encouragement about their job, etc.
• Our team will create the messages and your team would assemble the gifts!  

 

Flagler Habitat for Humanity Build - ADOPTED BY THE WOMEN'S INITIATIVE FLAGLER

• Can accommodate 15 volunteers
• Shift is 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

 

Halifax Habitat for Humanity Beautification Project - ADOPTED BY VOLUSIA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

• Halifax Habitat for Humanity needs help beautifying their restore in Daytona Beach through landscaping and painting! 
• Can accommodate 10 volunteers
• Shift is 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
