How Do I Advocate?
Each year United Way of Florida (UWOF) creates a Consensus Legislative Agenda that is approved by all 28 United Ways across the state of Florida. The 2023 agenda focuses on United Way’s work improving lives for ALICE (Asset, Limited, Income, Constrained, Employed) individuals across the state.
There are many different ways you can advocate, it's as simple as sharing a social media post or as in-depth as meeting with an elected official. We invite you to visit ourAdvocate page to learn more about how you can use your voice to advance the common good. There you’ll find the complete UWOF Consensus Legislative Agenda and links to find your local and state representatives.
Not sure what to say to your representatives? Take a look at the UWOF’s Advocacy Toolkit and Public Policy Page which allow you to send a pre-generated email to your legislators. One of the best ways to help our community make informed policy decisions is for you to be informed. Review the latest United Way ALICE report and learn the data behind the needs.
Lastly, you can help raise awareness about what Your United Way is doing as well as our partner agencies by following and sharing oursocial media posts.
